Last week was, to be honest, horrible. I was stressed out beyond belief, and negativity seemed to be woven throughout my days. In typical awesome mom style, my madre zipped up to Hartford for an intimate dinner for two (she may or may not have been fearing for my sanity). We usually stick to West Hartford for its reliable restaurants and fun crowd, but we were feeling adventurous and took a trip to Bin 228 wine bar in downtown Hartford.
This tiny little treasure is tucked away on Pearl Street, a bit off the beaten path, but it more then lived up to our expectations. We shared a bottle of red and feasted on a roasted veggie panini, salmon, and fresh greens, and then topped it all off with a Nutella panini (no, really). The malted chocolate souffle was sub-par, but really, after our meal, we weren’t complaining. If you ever find yourself in Hartford, do yourself a favor and stop by Bin (obviously call me first, so I can come too).
