My other option (still not sold on the teal chair) is this bad boy from Crate and Barrel. If Chris and I were rich (sadz, we are not) I would buy this set in the store where it currently retails for $1600.
I found it on Craigslist but the woman wants $900. It’s 3 years old. I think anyone that doesn’t instantly discount something 50% the day it leaves the store when they post it on Craigslist is bonkers. She is currently down to $750. I’m considering offering $600 (approx. 60% off retail) but I still feel like that’s a lot.
What do you think is a fair price? Should I bother? What would you pay for it?
Update: I offered $400, final offer, if it’s in perfect shape. I think $300 for the chair and $100 for the ottoman is more than fair. We shall see!

  2. buildingaladder answered: It all depends on the wear and tear. I’d say that $400 is way more than fair. (I was thinking more like $200.)
  3. blairsings answered: Definitely nothing more than $600…even $600 seems like a lot for me for furniture that is 3 years old.
  4. blueeyedgreek answered: In my experience, PB furniture is all about the name and not great quality. I wouldn’t pay more than $250 for a three year old used chair.
  5. neffsays said: I like this more than the chair.
  6. besttoeastcoast answered: the ottoman looks slightly discolored from the chair. offer 300 (lowball her) and then maybe she’ll say 500, you’ll settle on 400.
  7. catinreallife answered: That’s a lot of money for a chair on Craigslist!! I’d offer 500 if it was in amazing condition
  8. noevidenceofintelligence said: I think $600 is a lot for USED furniture. I say check it out, see if she smokes, has pets, if there are any tears/stains. Then offer $400…the worst that could happen is that she says no. Plus a non name brand from a furniture outlet is only $400.
  9. phillyfilly said: i think $600 is high. esp for ultra-suede. isn’t there a pb outlet in upstate ny? we got out leather chair (which retails for $1400) for $400 at the pb outlet near us.
  10. yaboutthat answered: I vote no, i think you can do better and find better. I really think the teal chair is unique so I like it better! I would pay under $400.
  11. missmala answered: 525? ..but 500 if you pick it up asap?
  12. ilikeyourwigjanice answered: I’m torn, I feel like the majority of that price is for the brand name. But it is cute. I’d look and see if you could find a similar one.
  13. littlelaur answered: 3 years old?! i say that even at $600 that’s still overpriced…
  14. greatlake answered: I’d pay $500 for something 3 years old, people on craiglist are insane and think their stuff is worth SO much more then it is!
  15. haygirlhay answered: cb furniture is AWESOME. i have/love the lounge sectional. if you can get it for half and there’s no stains or damage, GET IT.
  16. tamsgot said: I feel like you could go to another store and get a brand new chair for cheaper. That’s a lot of money for a 3 year old chair
  17. champagnetoasts said: $600 is fair. don’t offer her any more. she’ll come calling if she doesn’t have any other offers. she isn’t going to get $750 for that.
  18. jaclynday answered: Tis a lot of money for a chair, but it will last you a long time. I’m torn.
  19. dailydoseofsarcasmandsass answered: you never know until you try! just offer it and see what she says
  20. kimbaland answered: That’s a lottt of money for a chair.
