0/2: A Rant
So far, neither of the two people I have interviewed have e-mailed me a thank you let…
Hold that note…I seriously just got an e-mail from the one I talked to yesterday, like as I was typing this. OK, so 1/2 ain’t bad. Weird, haha.
I always wait at least a week to take this into consideration when interviewing interns, because more and more people seem to be taking the stance that an email is impersonal and are mailing handwritten thank-you cards instead. One of my favorite professors at UConn told me to ALWAYS send a handwritten card, it was some of the best advice I’ve ever been given.
Personally, I LOVE when I get an actual card in the mail- I think the extra effort makes a big impression. Maybe the unresponsive candidate has a treat coming for you via snail mail ASAP!
